Discover our story, heritage, and commitment to quality
Founded in 1982 by the Ben Hmidene family, Olivia began as a small family-owned olive grove in the fertile region of Bizerte, Tunisia. Drawing on generations of knowledge and a deep respect for the land, we started with just 50 hectares of olive trees and a vision to share the exceptional quality of Tunisian olive oil with the world.
Over the decades, we've grown to manage over 500 hectares of olive groves, but our commitment to quality, tradition, and sustainable farming practices has never wavered. Today, we're proud to export our premium olive oils to more than 30 countries while maintaining the same attention to detail and passion that inspired our founding.
What sets Olivia apart is our unique blend of time-honored traditions and modern innovation. We handpick our olives using techniques passed down through generations, but process them in state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the highest standards of quality and purity.
Tunisia boasts a rich olive-growing tradition that dates back to the 8th century BC when the Phoenicians introduced olive cultivation to North Africa. The Romans later expanded olive farming, establishing Tunisia as one of the primary olive oil producers of the ancient world.
Today, Tunisia is the world's second-largest exporter of olive oil and the first in organic olive oil production. One-third of the country is covered with olive groves, with 1.8 million hectares dedicated to olive cultivation – the highest density of olive plantations in the world.
The Mediterranean climate of Tunisia, with its hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters, creates ideal conditions for growing olives. The diverse geographical regions – from the northern mountains to the central plains and coastal areas – contribute to the unique characteristics and flavor profiles of Tunisian olive oils.
Our Mission: To share the exceptional quality and rich heritage of Tunisian olive oil with the world while supporting sustainable agriculture and the communities who cultivate our olives.

Sustainability: We practice organic and sustainable farming methods that protect the environment, preserve biodiversity, and ensure the health of our olive groves for generations to come.
Tradition: We honor the ancient olive-growing traditions of Tunisia while embracing innovation that enhances quality and sustainability.
Community: We support local farmers and communities through fair trade practices, education, and investment in rural development.
